Review: Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Foundation Primer

Hey Guys!
Today I am going to be reviewing a foundation primer. If you don't know what a foundation primer is, its basically a product you put on after your moisturizer and before your foundation. This product is meant to create a smooth canvas for your foundation and to help the foundation stay on your face longer. Many of you are about to start school and might be worried about your foundation not wearing throughout the school day. I purchased this foundation primer when I first started off with makeup. I did not want to spend a lot of money because part of me didn't understand the concept of a primer and was not sure if it would work for me. I had heard good things about the Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Primer through YouTube videos. Since it is so easy to find and affordable I decided to get it a shot. Please keep in mind the price of this product will vary depending upon where you purchase it, this is the case with most drugstore cosmetics.

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Foundation Primer
  • Create a perfect canvas for foundation application.
  • Skin Perfecting primer smoothes and evens out your complexion.
  • Prolongs the wear of your foundation.
  • Minimizes Pores.
1 fl. oz (30 ml) size | Price will Vary

My Thoughts:
Before this product I was not using any foundation primers so I wasn't sure what to compare it to. I still have not had my fair share of practice when it comes to foundation primers. But after working at Sephora and playing around with some of the primers we sell on different faces I know what a primer is supposed to do and how it should work. In my opinion this product does everything that it claims it will do and for the price you can not go wrong. You do not need to use very much of this product to cover your whole face. This product lasted me about 3 months. Since this product is tinted it evens out the skin tone beautifully. Rimmel London's website states that the color is Apricot which is pretty accurate. The peach/orange tones in the primer help to brighten the skin. Now lets cover the 4 things Rimmel claims this product to do.

First claim is that the primer creates a perfect canvas for foundation application and this is true. Once I applied the primer I felt like my face was ready for foundation. I used different foundations with this primer and it worked well with every single one. I didn't have any trouble blending or applying my foundation.

Second claim is that the primer smoothes and evens out your complexion, which is also true. Since the product is tinted it helps to cover a bit of discoloration. In no way way does this have any coverage as far as covering blemishes, etc. But the tint it has helps to create a even skin tone for the foundation to sit over.

Third claim is that the primer prolongs the wear of foundation. Before I started using primer my foundation would last about 4 hours on my skin and usually 2 hours in my oils were already surfacing. After using this primer I realized that because I have combination/oily skin it is very important for me to be using a primer. This primer held my foundation on for about 6-8 hours. Which is perfect for those of you who have early mornings and get out in the evening. It also works really well for those nights out on the town. My oils started to surface at about 4 hours which is much better then before.

Lastly, Rimmel claims that this primer will minimize pores. It is very hard for me to comment on this claim because my pores are not very large. I have medium sized pores on my nose and small pores everywhere else. But I did not notice that the medium ones seemed a bit smaller. Which says that this primer does fill in your pores a bit to make them appear smaller. This is not saying that it will make your pores disappear because that's not going to happen. But it will help to make them look smaller.

I would definitely recommend this product to those of you who are just starting out with foundation primers and don't want to spend a ton of money. Especially, students who are going back to school and looking for school appropriate makeup. Primer is going to make all the difference because your makeup will last longer. I know this is a dependable primer, that I can always back to.

Thank you!

Review: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum

Hey Guys!
Summer is coming near to us on the western hemisphere. Which equals humidity for the most of us. And with humidity usually comes frizzy hair, which no one is really found of. I saw a while back on Kim Kardashian's blog that she uses the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum to control frizz and to add shine to her gorgeous hair. Of course being the Kardshian addict that I am, I decided I had to try it. The fact that it was so easy to get my hands on was also a plus. John Frieda products can be found at most drugstores and at Ulta. With that being said the price of this product will vary depending upon where you buy it. Now lets get to the review.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum
For Dry, Frizz-Prone Hair

Blocks Frizz.
Contains a UV filter.

1.69 fl. oz. (50 ml) size | Price will vary.

My thoughts:
Before this product I was using the Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum in order to give my hair a more shiny appearance. The Skinny Serum is an awesome product and probably deserves a review of its own but it does not really control fizz. The John Frieda Frizz-Ease Serum on the other hand does. This product delivered everything that it claims and in my opinion was worth every penny. Considering you only have to use one to two pumps of it, this product lasts a long time. I had mine for a couple of months before I was completely thru with it. John Frieda's website claims that this products blocks frizz and this is does. I live in Miami and trust me we know frizz down here. With the ocean so near by we get a lot of moisture in the hair which ends up causing many of us to have frizzy hair. Also have you ever had those days where you can go one more day without washing your hair? Like the in between days, but your hair can tend to look very dry at the ends. Well with a pump of this product it will turn dry looking hair into glossy looking hair. It really is amazing. This product contains silicons in it to smooth hair instantly. This product can be applies to wet hair straight out of the shower or already styled hair for that extra shine factor. AVOID putting this product at the roots of your hair. Like any product when applied to the roots can cause build up and an even greasy/dirty look to the hair. When using the correct amount this just gives a wonderful shine to your hair while controlling the frizz. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has dry or frizz-prone hair as it will help you with all of your difficulties. But I also recommend this product to anyone who likes to add a little life and shine to their hair as well. I will definitely be buying another one of these, especially for the summer!

Thank You!

Review: Big Sexy Hair Shampoo & Conditioner

Hey Guys!

I am constantly changing my shampoo and conditioner. I never use the same one back to back. The JcPenney salon inside of my local mall always has the best sales on liter sized shampoos and conditioners, so I tend to always get them there. I was looking for a product to make my hair a bit voluminous, so I decided to get Big Sexy Hair's Big Volume Shampoo and Conditioner.

Sexy Hair products are available at certain salons. If you click on this link: you can find a salon near you that sells Sexy Hair products. You can also find their products at TJMaxx and Marshalls for reduced prices. I also believe that certain drugstores have a section dedicated to salon products and I have seen Sexy Hair products in this area.

Big Volume Shampoo

Use on flat/fine/thin hair to add fullness
Maintain moisture and protect color.

1 Liter | Price will vary where purchased

My Thoughts:
First thoughts when I used this shampoo was that I loved the way it foamed! My hair felt extremely clean after rinsing the product out. I always shampoo twice because of the length and thickness of my hair and this shampoo did not dry it out. All though volumizing shampoos tend to have a rep for drying out your hair, this shampoo defiantly keeps your hair moisturized while adding volume. I say keeps your hair moisturized because I do not believe it adds moisture. So if you have dry hair, I do not think this product will be write for you. Again keep in mind almost all volumizing shampoos do not have moisturizing effects.
Sexy Hair claims for this product to revitalize hair after daily use. I am not sure if this claim is true as I do not wash my hair everyday. It is recommended not to wash your hair everyday as your hair needs the natural oils to keep it hydrated.
The wheat proteins and other ingredients in the shampoo is what helps add fullness and volume to your hair while keeping it hydrated. Since Big Sexy Hair is a light weight shampoo it won't strip your hair from its soothing properties.
Will I purchase this product again? Well as I stated before I tend not to use the same shampoo twice but if I am ever in the need for a good volumizing shampoo I know which one I can count on. ;)

Big Volume Conditioner

Use on flat/fine/thin hair to detangle
Add moisture and increase fullness

1 Liter | Price will vary where purchased

My Thoughts:
First thoughts on this product was "WOW YOU SMELL PHENOMENAL!" At the moment you open the bottle you can smell the deliciousness of this conditioner. This conditioner does an awesome job at adding shine and volume to your hair. I only condition the ends of my hair which means the product never makes it to my scalp. But my ends have not looked this shiny in a long time. Last night I did conditioned twice and my hair looked like sunshine this morning. :P
Conditioner is basically grease if you think about it. This conditioner is super light weight and does not weigh your hair down. Which to me is very important considering the amount of hair I do not want the products I use to weigh it down.
The conditioner is defiantly a lot more moisturizing then the shampoo. Which makes sense because shampoo is meant to clean and conditioner is meant for shine, moisture, and detangle.
I also noticed after several uses that my hair did not have as many fly aways at the roots. Which makes me believe that this product prevents frizz. Which for a girl living in Miami that is a must with all this damn humidity.
Another important factor is its ability to detangle which is awesome! Since your hair is so soft and moisturized, it detangles like a dream!
The sage oil and pro-vitamins B5 in the volumizing hair conditioner delivers ample fullness to your hair.
Will I purchase this product again? Most defiantly! It does everything that I love in a conditioner
and I  enjoy the shampoo as well, so its a win/win for me :)

Final Thoughts:
The Big Sexy Hair Shampoo and Conditioner are awesome products. I believe they would work with all hair types considering you get a good balance with the shampoo and conditioner. I would defiantly recommend going to your local TJMaxx or Marshalls and picking up a bottle. If you want big hair, you will love this! There are other products within the Big Sexy Hair line. I am currently trying out the Root   Plump Plus which I am still trying out. Keep in mind that what works for me might not work for you.

Review: Murad Vitalic Skincare Regimen

Hey Guys!

A couple of months ago after I was done using the Ole Henrickson skincare line, I decided to branch out into a different line. While working at Sephora I used to sell Murad's Acne Skincare Regimen a ton and it does truly work! But I do not have acne so there was no point in trying that regimen. After doing some research and taking Murad's questionnaire on their website I decided to the Vitalic Skincare Regimen would be best for my skin type. I have tried all of the products in the line except for the eye cream. Two of the products were given to me when I was an employee at Sephora.

The Vitalic Skincare Regimen features pomegrante extract to balance oily and dry zones of the skin throught the science of cellular water. Combination skin is the most common skin type. If you have combination skin you are usually oilier in the T-zone with some dryness at the perimeter of the face. This skincare regimen is designed for people with the following skin concerns: oily T-zone, clogged pores, occasional breakouts, and premature aging.

These products are available at Sephora, and wherever else you can find Murad Skincare products. Sephora does not sell a set for this particular skincare regimen. On the other hand the Murad website does sell a 3-step regiman for $91. On the Murad website it says it is a 90 day supply, so basically 3 months.

Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser
A "dual-action" foaming cleanser. Cleanses and tones face in just one step.

1. Washes away pore-clogging impurities
2. Stimulates healthy cell function

5.1 fl oz. | $26

My Thoughts:
I had never tried a foamy cleanser before and I enjoyed it. My face defiently felt clean and refreshed after using it, while still being very gentle. Because it has the Witch Hazel in it, many people might think it would be harsh. On the contratry I feel there is not enough Witch Hazel in it. Since it is a "dual-action" product I expect to not feel the need to tone after. With this product I felt like there was a step missing. I enjoy toning my face because of the feeling of my pores being "closed." For those of you that feel like toners make your skin feel dry, you should try this out because I did not feel any sense of dryness with this product. Another positive is that the product smells amazing! Since it contained pomegrante extracts, it has a great scent!
Now is the product worth $26? I am not sure. I do not mind spending a little extra money on my skincare products because my skin is very important to me. But I do not think I would repurchase this product for the simple fact that it did not prove to perform both the cleansing and toning for me.

T-Zone Pore Refining Gel
A treatment step used to balance oily and dry zones of the skin, for a more radiant complexion.

2.0 FL. OZ. | $40

My Thoughts:
I am still very confused on what this product is for. Which says a lot because I have issues with my T-zone. When reading the name as a T-zone Pore Refining Gel, I thought it would be perfect for me. I would use it after the cleaner and let it dry. I did not notice a difference at all.
The reviews on Sephora and the Murad website are very good for this product, so I had high hopes before I started using it. It may help people with more severe T-zone issues, which makes me question if my T-zone is as bad as I had thought.
This product is $40, which is very pricey in my opinion. Thankfully I recieved a deluxe sample of this product when working for Sephora and the mini bottle lasted me for as long as I was using the skincare regimen. Since it did not work for I do not feel like it is worth the money. But for all of those ravers on the Sephora and Murad website it is worth every cent.

Pomegranate Exfoilating Mask
Antioxidant-rich mask restores, revitalizes and balances combination skin.

1. Dissolves tired cells and frees skin's surface of trapped impurities
2. Softens, conditions and hydrates

6 Treatments | $22.50

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

My Thoughts:
This product really surprised me. I am used to the typical thick mask that hardens after a couple of mintues. This mask is a gel like formula and feels amazing on the skin. Since it contains natural fruit enzymes it has a tingly effect on the skin. It is not an irrating or burning sensation at all! My skin feels so much smoother and has a beautiful glow right after using it. The fact that they are individual packaged is also great because you know exactly how much to use. One whole package was enough for my face and down my neck. I probably could have gotten away with using a package twice but i liked to layer it on. If you have a smaller face just use less and tape the package closed.
This product is $22.50 and I defiently feel like it is worth every penny. If you have combination skin with problems with an oily T-zone but still want a glow, this is for you. The fact that you can use the packages several times and this product is only to be used once a week it can last you for atleast 12 weeks, even more! I am defiently going to repurchase this product!

Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15
A lightweight moisturizer that infuses skin with hydration and energy. Delivers oil-free hydration while infusing skin with a natural glow.

1. Provides broad spectrum sun protection
2. Protects against free radicals

2.0 FL OZ | $33

My Thoughts:
This product is very light-weight, on the other hand it feels very greasy on my skin. I am still using this product because I have not run out of it. It does not break me out but I feel like it leaves a "film" over my skin and does not absorb very well. I do really like that it has SPF 15, so I use it in the morning after I wash my face.
This product is $33 which for a moisturizer I think is pretty average. I did not pay for this product, it was provided to me when I worked for Sephora. But once I finish this product I will not be repurchasing. I'm happy that it has lasted me this long. One of the reasons why is cause I do not use it at night as I do not feel the need for SPF at night.

Final Thoughts:
Overall the Murad Vitalic Skincare Regimen is a good skincare regimen. It is defentily formulated for combination skin, with oil issues in the T-zone. My face is not oily enough for some of the products but if that is your concern, TRY THIS! There is also a lip balm in this line which I own but have not tried, along with an eye cream that I do not own. The whole regimen lasted me about 3 months. I am still using the moisturizior as perviously stated. None of the products broke me out. Keep in mind my skin is not too sensitive and I am not prone to breakouts. I do believe that all of the products would be light enough for a sensitive skin type. If you are interested in trying any of the products that are in bottles, I would recommend going to your nearest Sephora and asking for any samples to bring home. I always say that a sample size sometimes just does not cut it because when it comes to skin care your skin has to get used to the products and usually results aren't instant.

M.I.A from YouTube Video Making

Hey Guys!

This is so weird for me. I am not used to blogging and I feel a lot more comfortable just talking to you guys in a video. Unfortunately my FlipCam broke a couple of weeks ago which is why I have not posted a video on my YouTube channel. I LOVE making videos and miss it so much! There are so many videos I had planned to record and now that I don't have a camera it's not really going to work. I hope to buy a new camera soon but I am not sure when that exactly is going to happen. So in the mean time I decided to create a blog to post any updates or reviews. If you guys have any requests on posts you would like to see or videos you would like me to record once I get a camera, please post a comment below. Hopefully I'll get the swing of this quickly. My first real post is going to be a review on some Murad skincare products I was using. Please look out for that and I hope you guys start to follow this blog.

Thank you!
